The basics
What is Ahorradito?
Ahorradito is a free web application for organizing personal and household finances. You record income and expenses in separate financial spaces, organize them with categories, and follow your balance from a simple dashboard.
Is Ahorradito free?
Yes. Ahorradito is free to use and you do not need a credit card to create an account.
Which languages does Ahorradito support?
English and Spanish. You can switch language at any time, and the whole application follows — including how amounts and dates are formatted.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Ahorradito runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer. There is nothing to download and nothing to keep updated.
Sharing money with other people
Can I manage money together with my partner or family?
Yes. You can invite other people to a financial space and decide what each person can do: view only, collaborate by recording movements, or administer the space.
Can I keep different budgets separate?
Yes. Each financial space is independent, with its own currency, categories, and activity, so you can keep household money, personal finances, and projects apart.
What can each role do?
A viewer sees everything in the space but changes nothing. A collaborator works in the space day to day: recording, editing and deleting movements, and managing its categories, budgets and goals. An administrator does all of that and also renames the space, invites and removes people, changes their roles, and deactivates or deletes the space itself.
Can I remove someone later?
Yes. An administrator can change someone's role or remove them from a space at any time. Removing someone does not delete the movements they recorded — the space keeps its history.
Your money data
Does Ahorradito connect to my bank?
No, and that is deliberate. Ahorradito never asks for bank credentials and has no connection to your accounts. You enter what you spend and earn, so nothing sits between you and your bank and there is no integration to break.
What do you do with my data?
We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles. Hosting and email providers process it only on our instructions and only as far as running the service requires. The privacy policy sets out what is collected and why, and the security page covers how it is protected.
Can I get my data out, or delete it?
Yes. Under the GDPR and Spanish data protection law you can request access to your data, correct it, delete it, or receive a copy in a portable format. If you delete your account, the associated personal data is deleted with it. Get in touch through the contact page to exercise any of those rights.
Using it day to day
What is a movement?
A movement is one entry of money in or out — a salary, a supermarket run, a transfer. Each one has an amount, a date, and a category, and belongs to a single financial space.
What are budgets and goals for?
A budget sets what you intend to spend in a category over a period, and tells you when you are getting close or have gone over. A goal is the opposite direction: an amount you are saving towards, with or without a deadline.
What if I record something wrong?
Edit it or delete it. Nothing is locked, and correcting a movement recalculates the dashboard, the budgets, and the goals it affects.
